How long is the contract for NTU 1st year tenants?

For 2024 - 25 academic year, the contract  length for 1st year Undergraduate NTU tenants is

46 weeks, tenancy dates are 13/09/2024  - 31/07/2025.

What is the difference between a Standard and Deluxe room at Sandhills?

Bedroom size, view from the window, the communal area layout, size and numbers of occupants per flat influence the Room type
- we thought it is only fair it is reflected in price.

How is my room allocated?

Rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis, a flat at a time.

At this application stage, there is no guarantee of accommodation.

What are the room accent colours?

With Sandhills, different floors will have different accent colours – these are bedroom & kitchen finishes that make the flats a little more unique

Levels 7-6-5 are turquoise mint (room type pictured Standard)

Levels 4-3-2 are sand (room type pictured Deluxe)

Levels 1, G and LG are orange (room type pictured Standard) (the mirror wall is now painted off-white)

 

Can I pick my room colour?

Room type (Economy/Standard/Deluxe/Executive) is the only preference option available.

Allocation starts from top of the building, going down Core B. 

Can I live with my friends?

Yes, if you apply at the same time

What if I don't get the grades?

If you let us know in writing before midday (12:00) on 22nd August 2024 we will release you from your tenancy.

Is there an inventory for the flat?

How big are the beds and how much storage do they have underneath?

The beds are 3/4 size (AKA Small Double) - 4ft x 6ft

The heights of space under the bed is approx. 15cm, one can fit two shallow storage boxes underneath and plenty of other cardboard boxes and items around them.

Is there parking?

As Sandhills is in a strictly city centre location, there is no parking – there is a tram stop next to NTU Newton Building (5’ walk away) which takes you to a Park & Ride facility at the outskirts of the city – there is a multi-storey car park nearby also.

What sports equipment is there in the cardio studio?

The cardio studio is equipped with Precor equipment:

The kitchen hobs are standard electric and your regular pots and pans would work on them
