Trying to calculate the average energy bill can sometimes be tricky, as there are many different elements that contribute to how much you pay for your gas and electricity. These elements include the region of the country that you live in, the amount of energy that you use, how you choose to pay for your energy and the type of property you live in.
It also comes down to personal use. 5 adults sharing a property, each showering up to twice a day and cooking separately will cost more than a family of 2 adults and 3 children eating together with different bathing habits.
Below shows the average energy bill for customers on a ‘standard’ energy tariff. Most energy customers will currently be on standard tariffs.
Small house/flat - annual bill £1712
Medium House - annual bill £2450
Large House - annual bill £3492

Remember, in cold weather it is usually best to leave some heating on all the time you are in a property as it costs more to heat up a property from cold than to keep a warm property warm. Make sure you know how to use your heating system - you can find guides here. If you are still cold something could be wrong, get in touch and we are happy to come out and show you how to use the boiler.
